The STV scheme is a part of the state’s bid to revitalise the economy. Prospective STV applicants are being advised to check which countries’ citizens are being permitted by the Public Health Ministry to travel into Thailand, said deputy ministry spokesman Natapanu Nopakun said.

Citing an announcement by the Interior Ministry on Sept 30 regarding permission for foreigners to apply for the STV, he said holders of this special visa will be allowed to first stay in the country for 90 days and then renew the visa twice for 90 days each time. The programme was launched on Thursday. The ministry has stressed to Thai embassies and consular offices overseas the importance of processing the STV accurately and disseminating information to prospective travellers, he said.

Documents required include a certificate of eligibility, proof of payment for state or hospital quarantine for 14 days, full payment for post-quarantine accommodation or ownership of accommodation, a Thai health and accident insurance policy with at least 400,000 baht inpatient coverage and 40,000 baht outpatient coverage, and a health insurance policy with at least US$100,000 (3.16 million baht) coverage for Covid-19 treatment, he said.

The Foreign minister A.K. Abdul Momen of Bangladesh announced the travel ban on Feb 14 in a desperate effort to limit the spread of the coronavirus. He said the ban would be effective from Sunday midnight. But the country deferred the travel ban by 12 hours to evade a chaotic situation as several Bangladesh-bound aircraft were still in the sky.

Starting Monday 16 February Bangladesh has imposed a 16-day ban on the entry of Europeans and travellers from several other countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar including India, as part of measures to combat the fast-spreading coronavirus pandemic.

The Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin too, in a televised address on Monday Mar 16 announced a ban on citizens from going overseas and foreigners from entering Malaysia for about two weeks starting Wednesday 18 Feb. The rules are part of a ‘restricted movement order’ established by the Malaysian government to prevent further spread of the COVID-19.

From Mar 18 to Mar 31, all Malaysians are prohibited from leaving the country. Those who return from overseas will have to go through health checks and go on a 14-day self-quarantine. Foreign visitors, including tourists, will also not be allowed to enter Malaysia during this period.

❐ যাদের ভিসার মেয়াদ শেষ তারা নতুন করে আবেদন করার পূর্বে এম্বাসি হতে অনুমতি নিতে হবে।

A maximum of 5,000 visitors will be allowed in a day into the monument in line with the Covid-19 protocol. The stage is set for the reopening of the Taj Mahal on Monday after six months of closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Preparations are in full swing for the 17th century monument to welcome visitors, albeit with social distancing and other restrictions.

Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) officials said they had not neglected the monument despites its gates having remained closed for so long.

“Lawns were maintained all through these six months and we are all set for the Taj re-opening from September 21 – from sunrise to sunset. The tourists would go through thermal check and they would be provided with sanitizer,” said AN Gupta, the new conservation assistant for ASI at Taj Mahal.

Gupta said not more than five visitors will be allowed at a time within the main mausoleum which houses the graves of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Tickets will not be sold through the window counters. These can be booked online from the ASI website or mobile app.

“Taj Mahal and Agra Fort will reopen for tourists from Monday. Ticket sale will be online and the Taj will remain closed on Fridays. Protocol for Covid-19 will be followed while allowing tourists inside the monument,” said Agra district magistrate Prabhu N Singh.

Vasant Swarnkar, superintending archaeologist for ASI’s Agra Circle, said, “The Taj Mahal will have visitors in two slots — pre-lunch and post-lunch. In each slot, there would be a maximum of 2,500 visitors. Once tickets for the first slot are sold, tickets will be issued for the second slot. In a day, a maximum 5,000 visitors can visit the Taj Mahal.”

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawans will remain at a distance and check visitors with hand-held metal detectors.

While no goods are to be carried inside the Taj Mahal, an ambulance would be ready at the gates of the monument, Gupta said.

Those who make a living in and around the Taj are also excited. For instance, Munawwar Ali, 50, began cleaning items at his marble goods shop on Sunday for the first time since March 16.

“We have called the staff on Monday after six months. We expect business to be slow but at least we will see tourists going to the Taj,” said Ali who has a shop adjoining the western gate of the monument.

‘Yes, we are excited about the reopening of the Taj after such a long duration. Once the gates of the Taj open, a day will come when international flights will resume. In the beginning, domestic tourists from nearby regions would come,” said Rajiv Tiwari, president of the Federation of Travel Association of Agra.

“ASI needs to follow the Covid protocol so that all goes smoothly. The government should begin thinking about restarting international flights as European nations have resumed tourism. We have to live with the coronavirus,” Tiwari added.

Indians will have to pay Rs 50 per ticket for visiting the Taj and shell out Rs 200 more for entering the main mausoleum. During routine days, it was mostly foreign tourists who used to pay extra to enter the main mausoleum.

Tourism trade experts recollect that the Taj Mahal had never remained closed for such a long period before. The decision to close monuments all over the country due to the Covid-19 pandemic was taken on March 17, even before the lockdown.

“It is perhaps for the first time that the ‘monument of love’, which attracts a large number of tourists to India, had been closed for such a long time,” said Arun Dang, former president of Tourism Guild and veteran of the Agra tourism trade.

“This is unprecedented. Though the monument was closed during the Second World War and also during two wars with Pakistan in 1965 and 1971, the closure had not been so long,” said Dang.

রেলপথ মন্ত্রণালয় এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানায়, রেলভবনে নবনিযুক্ত ভারতীয় হাই কমিশনার বিক্রম কুমার দোরাইস্বামীর সঙ্গে বৈঠকে মন্ত্রী এ কথা জানান।

জানা গেছে, প্রথমে মালবাহী ট্রেন চলাচল শুরু হলেও যাত্রীবাহী ট্রেন চলাচল শুরু হবে ২০২১ সালের ২৬ মার্চ থেকে।

ব্রিটিশ আমলে অবিভক্ত উপমহাদেশে চিলাহাটি-হলদিবাড়ি হয়ে ট্রেন চলাচল করতো। ১৯৬৫ সালে পাক-ভারত যুদ্ধের সময় বন্ধ হয়ে যায় এ রুট। ৫৫ বছর পর আবার সেই রেল যোগাযোগ স্থাপন করা হচ্ছে। চিলাহাটি থেকে হলদিবাড়ির দূরত্ব মাত্র ১০ কিলোমিটার। যার মধ্যে ভারতের অংশে ৩ এবং বাংলাদেশে ৭ কিলোমিটার। 

নীলফামারীর জেলা প্রশাসক মো. হাফিজুর রহমান চৌধুরী বলেন, চিলাহাটি রেলস্টেশন থেকে সীমান্ত পর্যন্ত ৬ দশমিক ৭২৪ কিলোমিটার ব্রডগেজ রেলপথ নির্মাণে সরকারের ব্যয় হচ্ছে ৮০ কোটি ১৬ লাখ ৯৪ হাজার টাকা। বর্তমানে এর কাজ শেষ পর্যায়ে আছে। এরপর এ রুটে ভারত–বাংলাদেশ ট্রেন চলাচল পুনঃস্থাপন সম্ভব হবে।

এ সীমান্ত দিয়ে রেলপথে চলাচল দু’দেশের জন্যই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। সবচেয়ে বেশি সুবিধা হবে পর্যটকদের। বর্তমানে ঢাকা থেকে শিলিগুড়ি বাস সার্ভিস চালু আছে, যেগুলো মূলত বুড়িমারী  ও বাংলাবান্দা হয়ে শিলিগুড়ি যায়। এসব বাসে চলাচল বেশ কষ্টকর এবং সময়ও লাগে বেশি। তবে ট্রেন চালু হলে সময় ও কষ্ট দুটোই লাঘব হবে।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গের উত্তরাঞ্চলীয় শিলিগুড়ি থেকে ঢাকা পর্যন্ত ওই ট্রেন সপ্তাহে দু’দিন করে চলবে বলে কর্মকর্তারা জানিয়েছেন। এটা চালু হলে ঢাকা হতে সহজেই যাওয়া যাবে দার্জিলিং ও সিকিম।যাওয়া সহজ হবে নেপাল এবং সড়কপথে ভুটানেও !

ট্রেনটি ঢাকা থেকে ছাড়বে- মঙ্গল ও শুক্রবার রাত ১ টায়।
শিলিগুড়ি থেকে ছাড়বে- সোম ও বৃহস্পতিবার দুপুর ২ টায়।

যাত্রাপথে সময় লাগবে ৯ ঘন্টা। আর ভাড়া শুরু সর্বনিম্ন ১২০০ থেকে আর সর্বোচ্চ ৩০০০ হতে পারে।

এই ট্রেনটি চালু হলে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ, সিকিমে যেমন বাংলাদেশী পর্যটকরা বড় সংখ্যায় অনায়াসে আসতে পারবেন, তেমনই সিকিম এবং পশ্চিমবঙ্গের উত্তরাঞ্চলের মানুষদেরও বাংলাদেশ যেতে সুবিধা হবে।

পর্যটন শিল্প এই ট্রেনটি নিয়ে আশাবাদী হলেও পশ্চিমবঙ্গের উত্তরাঞ্চলীয় অথবা সিকিমের মানুষ কতটা এই ট্রেনে চেপে বাংলাদেশে আসতে পারবে, তা নিয়ে সংশয় রয়েছে।

কারণ, শিলিগুড়িতে বাংলাদেশের কোনও ভিসা কেন্দ্র নেই, তাই ভারতীয় পর্যটকদের এই ট্রেনে চাপতে গেলে কলকাতায় গিয়ে ভিসা করিয়ে তারপরে শিলিগুড়ি ফিরে এসে ট্রেন ধরতে হবে।

শিলিগুড়ির অ্যাসোসিয়েশন ফর কনজারভেশন অ্যান্ড ট্যুরিজমের আহ্বায়ক রাজ বসু বলছিলেন, “আমরা তো আশা করছি এই নতুন ট্রেনে দু’দেশ থেকেই বহু মানুষ যাতায়াত করবেন, কিন্তু একটা সমস্যা হচ্ছে যে ভিসা করাতে যেতে হবে কলকাতায়। তারপর এখানে এসে ট্রেন ধরা যাবে।”

কলকাতায় বাংলাদেশের উপ রাষ্ট্রদূত তৌফিক হাসান বিবিসিকে বলেছেন, “একবার শিলিগুড়িতে একটা ভিসা কেন্দ্র করার কথা উঠেছিল, কিন্তু তা নিয়ে আর এগুনো হয় নি। অতীতে কয়েকবার ভিসা শিবির সেখানে করা হয়েছিল – কিন্তু এখন মেশিন পাঠযোগ্য ভিসা হয়ে যাওয়ার ফলে বেশ ভারি যন্ত্র লাগে। সেগুলো বয়ে নিয়ে গিয়ে শিবির করা বোধহয় সম্ভব হবে না।”

কিন্তু ভবিষ্যতে যদি ভিসা আউটসোর্সিং করে দেওয়া হয়, তাহলে একটা সমাধানের পথ বেরতে পারে বলে মনে করেন মি. হাসান।

ভারত আর বাংলাদেশের রেল কর্মকর্তাদের মধ্যে এক বৈঠকে সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছে যে শিলিগুড়ি সংলগ্ন বড় স্টেশন নিউ জলপাইগুড়ি বা এনজেপি থেকে যাত্রা শুরু করে ট্রেনটি প্রথম ৮৪ কিলোমিটার পথ ভারতের মধ্যে দিয়ে আর বাকি ৪৪৬ কিলোমিটার পথ বাংলাদেশের ভেতর দিয়ে যাবে।

নিউ জলপাইগুড়ি থেকে হলদিবাড়ি হয়ে সীমান্ত পেরবে ট্রেনটি।

তারপর বাংলাদেশের চিলাহাটি, নীলফামারী, পার্বতীপুর, হিলি, নাটোর ঈশ্বরদী আর টাঙ্গাইল হয়ে ট্রেন পৌঁছবে ঢাকায়।

এনজেপি স্টেশন থেকে সোমবার আর বৃহস্পতিবার দুপুরে ছাড়বে এবং রাত ১১টায় ঢাকা পৌঁছবে। ওই দিনই রাতে ঢাকা থেকে ফিরতি পথে ট্রেনটি ভারতের দিকে রওনা হবে।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গের উত্তরাঞ্চল এবং সিকিমে যারা পর্যটন শিল্পে সঙ্গে জড়িত, তারা এই নতুন রেলপথ নিয়ে বেশ উচ্ছ্বসিত।

হিমালয়ান হসপিটালিটি এবং ট্যুরিজম ডেভেলপমেন্ট নেটওয়ার্কের সাধারণ সম্পাদক সম্রাট সান্যাল বলছিলেন, “আমরা দীর্ঘদিন ধরেই এই অঞ্চলের সার্ক দেশগুলোর মধ্যে পর্যটন আরও জনপ্রিয় করে তোলার কথা বলছিলাম নানা ফোরামে। এই ট্রেনটি সেই দিশাতেই এগোনর প্রথম ধাপ।

“এমনিতেই বাংলাদেশ থেকে প্রচুর পর্যটক সাম্প্রতিক কালে দার্জিলিং-ডুয়ার্স বেড়াতে আসেন। এর মধ্যে সিকিমেও বাংলাদেশী নাগরিকদের যাওয়ার ছাড়পত্র দেওয়া হয়েছে। কিন্তু এতদিন তাদের ফুলবাড়িতে আন্তর্জাতিক সীমান্ত পেরিয়ে আসতে হত। এখন তাদের অনেক সুবিধা হয়ে যাবে।”

“ওদিক থেকে যেমন পর্যটক আসবেন, এদিক থেকেও বহু মানুষ বাংলাদেশ যেতে চান। তারাও এখন সরাসরি ঢাকায় পৌঁছে যেতে পারবেন। এটা খুবই ভাল সিদ্ধান্ত,” মন্তব্য মি. সান্যালের।

পরিচিত পর্যটন কেন্দ্রগুলি ছাড়াও এখন বহু নতুন পর্যটন কেন্দ্র গড়ে উঠছে দার্জিলিং পাহাড়ে এবং হোটেল ছাড়াও হোম-স্টে’র ব্যাপক প্রচলন হয়েছে।

তাই বহু বাংলাদেশী পর্যটক এই অঞ্চলে বেড়াতে আসছেন আজকাল – যদিও করোনা সংক্রমণের জন্য গতবছর প্রায় কেউই আসেন নি।

আবার দার্জিলিং পাহাড় এবং সিকিমের বৌদ্ধ ধর্মাবলম্বীদের কাছেও বাংলাদেশের সোমপুর মহাবিহার, মহাস্থানগড় এবং মুন্সিগঞ্জের বজ্রযোগিনী বিশেষভাবে আকর্ষণীয় হয়ে উঠবে বলে মনে করেন রাজ বসু।

তার কথায়, “এই অঞ্চলের বৌদ্ধ ধর্মাবলম্বীরা যেভাবে বোধগয়া বা নালন্দায় যান, সহজেই এখন তারা সোমপুর মহাবিহার বা মহাস্থানগড় – এসব বৌদ্ধ তীর্থ ক্ষেত্রে যেতে পারবেন। আবার অনেকেরই ইচ্ছা থাকে ঢাকার কাছে বজ্রযোগিনী গ্রামে অতীশ দীপঙ্করের জন্মস্থান দেখে আসতে। এছাড়া ঢাকা, চট্টগ্রাম, কক্সবাজারের মতো পরিচিত পর্যটন স্থানগুলো তো আছেই।”

পশ্চিমবঙ্গের উত্তরাঞ্চলের বহু মানুষের পূর্বপুরুষ পূর্ববাংলা থেকেই চলে এসেছিলেন – কেউ চা বাগান, কেউবা রেলে চাকরি করতে। তাদের উত্তরপুরুষদের মধ্যে নিজের শেকড়ের খোঁজে বাংলাদেশ যাওয়ার ভালোরকম উৎসাহ আছে বলে মনে করেন মি. বসু।

“এছাড়া যাকে কালিনারি ট্যুরিজম বলা হয়, বাংলাদেশের নামকরা সব খাবার চেখে দেখতে বা সেখানকার মানুষদের যে আতিথেয়তার কথা আমরা শুনেছি, তার আস্বাদ নিতেও অনেকে সেদেশে যেতে চান। তাদের পক্ষেও সরাসরি ট্রেন অনেকটাই সুবিধা করে দেবে,” বলছিলেন রাজ বসু।

সম্রাট সান্যালের কথায়, “পর্যটন শিল্প তখনই সফল হয়, যখন দু’দিক থেকেই পর্যটক আসবেন বা যাবেন।”

তাই এই নতুন ট্রেনে যাতায়াত দু’দেশের মানুষের কাছেই সুবিধাজনক করতে শিলিগুড়িতে বাংলাদেশের ভিসা ব্যবস্থা করা আশু প্রয়োজন বলেই মনে করছেন পর্যটন শিল্পের সঙ্গে যুক্ত ব্যক্তিরা।

আগামী মাস থেকে যারা থাইল্যান্ডে প্রবেশ করতে ইচ্ছুক তাদের অবশ্যই নিম্নলিখিত ধাপগুলো অনুসরণ করতে হবে।

১) টিকাপ্রাপ্ত ভ্রমণকারীদের জন্য:

– আপনার ভ্যাকসিন শংসাপত্রের একটি অনুলিপি এবং কমপক্ষে US$10,000 কভারেজ সহ Covid-19 বীমার প্রমাণ সহ থাইল্যান্ড পাসের জন্য নিবন্ধন করুন।
– আগমনের পরে কোন পরীক্ষার প্রয়োজন নেই।
– থাইল্যান্ডে থাকাকালীন ভ্রমণকারীদের দ্রুত অ্যান্টিজেন পরীক্ষা (ATK) করার পরামর্শ দেওয়া হয়। পরীক্ষা পজিটিভ হলে, তারা তাদের বীমা কভার করা চিকিৎসায় প্রবেশ করবে।
– যারা সংক্রামিত ব্যক্তিদের সাথে উচ্চ-ঝুঁকির ঘনিষ্ঠ সংস্পর্শে আসেন তাদের অবশ্যই পাঁচ দিনের জন্য আলাদা থাকতে হবে এবং আরও পাঁচ দিনের জন্য তাদের লক্ষণগুলি পর্যবেক্ষণ করতে হবে। Covid-19 কেসগুলির সাথে যোগাযোগের পরে ৫ ও ১০ দিনে ATK পরীক্ষা নেওয়া হবে।

২) টিকাবিহীন ভ্রমণকারীদের জন্য:

– একটি থাইল্যান্ড পাসের জন্য নিবন্ধন করুন এবং প্রস্থানের ৭২ ঘন্টার মধ্যে নেওয়া একটি নেতিবাচক RT-PCR ফলাফলের পাশাপাশি $10,000 Covid-19 বীমার প্রমাণ উপস্থাপন করুন, অথবা
– থাইল্যান্ড পাসের জন্য নিবন্ধন করুন, $10,000 Covid-19 বীমার প্রমাণ উপস্থাপন করুন এবং একটি বিকল্প কোয়ারেন্টাইন সুবিধায় ৫ দিন বুক করুন।
– পৌঁছানোর পরে, বিকল্প কোয়ারেন্টাইন ব্যবস্থায় থাকুন এবং ৪ বা ৫ দিন একটি RT-PCR পরীক্ষা করুন।
– ভ্রমণকারীদের থাইল্যান্ডে থাকাকালীন একটি অ্যান্টিজেন পরীক্ষা (ATK) করার পরামর্শ দেওয়া হয়েছে। যারা পজিটিভ পরীক্ষা করেন তারা তাদের বীমার অধীনে চিকিৎসায় প্রবেশ করবেন।
– যারা সংক্রামিত ব্যক্তিদের সাথে উচ্চ-ঝুঁকির ঘনিষ্ঠ সংস্পর্শে আসেন তাদের অবশ্যই পাঁচ দিনের জন্য আলাদা থাকতে হবে এবং আরও পাঁচ দিনের জন্য তাদের লক্ষণগুলি পর্যবেক্ষণ করতে হবে। একটি ATK পরীক্ষা Covid-19 কেসের সাথে যোগাযোগের পরে ৫ দিন এবং ১০ দিন পরে নেওয়া হবে।

Spicejet is a renowned airline company in India. During covid their business was down due to cancel of all flights. But that time they took bad steps. They started cheating on their customer.

During the starting period of covid, all airline canceled their flights and gave the amount ticket price to Credit shield. All airlines expanded the use of credit shield time but Spicejet didn’t do that. At first, Spicejet gave 6 months’ time for the credit shield. But in 2021, the pandemic situation was dangerous. At that time flights were also shut down. All airlines expanded credit shield balance time to 2023 but Spicejet didn’t. They (Spicejet) took off all the credit shield balance of their customer’s account. They assured their customer about a full refund. Since 2021 May, they are assuring their customer that customer will get the full amount as a refund. But till this report ($th July 2022) Spicejet concerned person didn’t pay a single penny or refund to their customers.
